Principal Institute of Excellence (PIE) is a social impact company dedicated to bridging the career preparedness divide for African students, especially for those from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds in underserved communities.

Our goal is to unlock the potential of young people by addressing their social, emotional and academic learning needs. We do so by providing students with the right tools and resources to develop essential career readiness, social and emotional skills that cultivates well-rounded individuals, ready to take advantage of present opportunities.

About Our Company and Our People

We are driven by a simple but urgent truth: too many students make life-shaping academic choices without guidance, context, or clarity. At Principal Institute of Excellence, we believe career readiness must begin early, not at graduation. Our work is rooted in a passion for equity, purpose-driven education, and real-world opportunity. Through R.A.C.E. to Futures, we are building a system where every student can discover their strengths, explore aligned paths, and step into their future with confidence.

The Founder

Hi, I’m Hilda and I’m a passionate advocate for quality education, accessible career guidance, and socio-economic opportunity, for all students, regardless of location or background.
My own 15-year journey to finding a fulfilling career in Business Intelligence, despite early academic success, revealed how easily even high-performing students can be derailed by a lack of structured support. That journey led me to create R.A.C.E.
Through this platform, I’m committed to helping young people gain the clarity, confidence, and the exposure they need to make informed choices, and build futures they’re proud of.

Why We are passionate About R.A.C.E. to Futures.

At the heart of Principal Institute of Excellence (PIE) is a deeply personal story shared by many, one of potential, misaligned choices, and missed guidance.

Across the globe, there is growing evidence of a disconnect between what students learn in school and the skills employers actually require. This mismatch is especially acute in developing countries, where education systems often lack the infrastructure and guidance needed to help students align their education with real-world opportunity.

In Ghana, the situation is even more stark, with career guidance services largely absent before tertiary education and few systems in place to support informed subject choices or skills development at the basic education level.

PIE was created to change that, we are developing and preparing to pilot the R.A.C.E. platform, a digital career readiness framework designed to guide students from upper primary through tertiary education. Through mentorship, project-based learning, skill-building, and exposure to real career paths, R.A.C.E. empowers students to understand who they are, where they’re going, and how to get there, long before their future is decided for them.

“Our goal is simple: equip every student with the clarity, confidence, and capability to succeed beyond school.”
