This 2026/27 academic year, we are RACEing to reach 500+ JHS 3 learners across 7 schools in Ho Municipal with clarity and confidence in career decisions. Help fund the Axeleraxn Drive.

The Project

Axeleraxn Drive is a practical career discovery workshop for Junior High School students. Axeleraxn is the Junior High School stage of our RACE to Futures career readiness programme.

The problem

In Ghana, learners make an important educational decision at JHS 3, often without adequate guidance or a clear understanding of its impact on their future career options.

Our Solution

Through guided workshops and practical activities, Axeleraxn Drive helps learners discover their strengths and interests, explore careers, and understand SHS subject pathways so they can make informed decisions about their futures.

“Career guidance is not institutionalised at JHS level in Ghana, even though this is where learners make choices that shape their future education and training pathways.”

What Axeleraxn Drive 2025/26 did for 160 learners.

In early 2026, PIE Africa, in collaboration with GES, ran its first Axeleraxn Drive in Ho Municipal: a career readiness workshop series for JHS 3 learners preparing to choose their SHS programmes. Our endline assessments showed an overall 20.6% increase in career decision clarity.

Axeleraxn made SHS school choices easier for our JHS 3 graduates this year. They continued using the workbook to explore their identity, and some wished they could enrol individually to continue the programme.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Axeleraxn Drive is a practical career discovery workshop for Junior High School students. It helps students understand their strengths and interests, explore different careers, and learn how their SHS subject choices connect to future opportunities.

The goal is simple: help young people make informed decisions about their future, rather than leaving those decisions to chance.

Axeleraxn is the Junior High School stage of our R.A.C.E. to Futures career readiness programme.

It is designed for students in JHS 1–3 and combines self-discovery, career exploration, skills development, and practical learning. Axeleraxn Drive is a shorter, intensive workshop drawn from this broader programme.

Yes! You can donate using Mobile Money through our secure Paystack payment gateway. Simply enter your donation amount, proceed to payment, and select Mobile Money from the available payment options. Follow the prompts to complete your donation.

Your donation goes towards the practical costs of running Axeleraxn Drive, including student learning materials, facilitators, transport and logistics, and monitoring and reporting.

Learning materials account for the largest share of the budget because we want every participating student to have resources they can use during and after the workshop.

You can see the full budget breakdown on this page.

Yes, we’d be happy to discuss that.

Our current school list helps us plan and coordinate delivery, but we’re open to reaching other schools and communities where students could benefit from the programme.
